...Late one night when me and Guillaume
were walking around... I saw this statue (dark, to the left) in this plaza
that I remembered from OVER 12 YEARS AGO! When I was a wee teen, OK maybe
an overgrown teen, I worked and backpacked all through Europe for an entire
summer - it was one of the best experiences I ever had. I was basically
living off the streets for the entire summer, and had no camera, and so
the only photos I had of the experience were by fellow travelers that I
would meet and that would take photos and give me copies of them... got
all that? One of my favorite photos from that summer was one of me standing
in front of this statue and imitating it's stance with my head and hand.
So anyway... I have been back to Paris many times since but have somehow
never seen this plaza again, or even remembered it existed. So Guillaume
and I are walking along and suddenly see it and I'm like "Wait a minute...
I remember this!" ...and I felt inspired to recreate the photo from 12
years ago (as best as I could remember). So I did - and Guillaume snapped
the photo. And when I got back to the states, after digging through some
junk... I found the original...
