   Huge fan of CampBlood here.

   Buzz is a total sweetheart, and when he gears up the next iteration of his “I Still Know” weekly still challenge, I’ll be really bugged if you don’t play.

   He posts a random screencap from a horror movie that has at least a hint of homoerotic content, and you have about four days to guess the name of the movie. I was pretty obsessed with it last year, and spent more time playing film-detective than I care to think about.

   I still only managed second place when the dust cleared, but Mark – you would kick major ass in this contest. I’ll let you know when it relaunches. Should be soon.

   Great site, it’s on my bookmarks. And your choice of a photo of Stephen Geoffreys in “Fright Night” is even more appropriate than you may realize Mark. After appearing in many 80’s horror and comedey films and also being nominated for a Tony for a later performance on Broadway Geoffreys became a gay porn star under the fake name “Sam Ritter” or “Stephan Bordeaux”.

   i just started checking into camp blood about two weeks ago. it’s fantastic. buzz has a great sense of humour and his take on gay-themed genre stuff is levelheaded and smart.

   Regarding Stephen Geoffreys,

   It is widely reported that for a period of about 10 years ( from the early 90’s thru until the early 2000’s ) Stephen Geoffreys appeared in gay porn films, where he was supposedly credited as Sam Ritter or Stephan Bordeaus. The “actor” in question is not Stephen Geoffreys, but Michael Miller – Stephen Geoffreys’ brother. When Michael started doing porn, people understandably saw his resemblance to Mr Geoffreys. This is where the rumor started that they were one in the same. Because of the tremendous amount of publicity this generated, Michael Miller has done nothing to correct the error.

   Unfortunately, the rumor was enough to destroy Stephen Geoffreys’ career. The one and only “questionable” film Geoffreys did was Campfire’s Hunk Hotel. He mentioned it in an interview for Scarlet Street magazine – stating that it was a “gay adult movie”. Unfortunately, many people on the internet latched on to this statement ( ignoring much else of what the interview contained ) and use it as “proof” that he is indeed Sam Ritter/Stephan Bordeaux, fuelling the proverbial fire.

   Stephen Geoffreys could have corrected the misperception simply by releasing a photograph of himself with his brother, Michael Miller.

   A good publicist could have dealt with the issue.
